REASONS WHY ATTORNEYS BECOME ADDICTED

Attorneys are very busy people who spend a good number of hours trying to solve mysteries and puzzles that confound a legal issue.

In some of these cases, they end up not being able to fix the problem and it affects their mental health. Attorneys barely have time for themselves and their loved ones.

To help themselves deal with mental health problems, this is why some of them indulge in substance abuse or any form of behavioral abuse that gets them addicted.

Attorneys do not have time to relax and it affects them a whole lot. This is one of the reasons why their physical and mental health is always affected.

Attorneys face different cases ranging from death to robbery and a host of others. On some occasions, they encounter serious forms of setbacks that disrupts their sense of reasoning.

At this stage, some of them resort to substance abuse which leads to addiction. A good number of attorneys who are addicted, started abusing drugs or alcohol right from Law school.

For those who are not addicted to substances, there are various forms of behavioral addiction that might have them hooked.

We have various physical and mental capacities, so what works for one might be disastrous for the other. So, an attorney might not be prone to stress and another might become mentally and physically incapacitated.  

The downside to this are the accompanying health effects that come with addiction. The internal organs of the body might be adversely affected. For instance, the kidney, heart and the liver could be affected because of the excess alcohol or drugs.

For those who are struggling with behavioral addiction, their organs might not be affected, but they could suffer from other problems like decline in productivity and the likes. Every type of addiction comes with its own detrimental effects that affects the quality of life.

Attorneys who are addicted are advised to opt for executive rehab in order to help themselves.
